For me, and it’s me again, that made it difficult to connect to Luke since his background wasn’t really talked about. I didn’t read the first book in this series so maybe his issues were mentioned there, but I couldn’t figure out why he hesitated in becoming involved with both men when they both clearly wanted him, that is until he mentions one thing at the very end. There’s mention of Luke’s issues but only that he has problems, nothing is gone into detail to let readers feel for his problems. The monologue kept me distant from the characters. Rather than feel their emotions, I felt like the story was in a dreamlike state and I was watching through a veil as the action took place as they told me about them. I think this is part of the reason I couldn’t connect or identify with the characters. And, since there are three characters, there’s more monologue than I normally find myself reading in stories. Each character had lots of internal monologue about their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. This story is very heavy on the monologue. If you’ve read my reviews before, I’ve mentioned that I’m not a fan of monologue. However, what I thought was the hottest sex scenes were after Luke accepted his attraction to Liam. Me personally, I’m looking for character growth, seeing how they grow together outside the bedroom, and I don’t need a lot of sex in the books I read to convey that connection.

If you’re looking for a story with lots and lots of sex, this could be for you. The men's relationship was heavily dependent on their physical attraction to each other and sex. However, for some reason this story didn’t quite work for me and it’s probably a ‘me’ thing.

The author has a good ability to convey characters’ emotions and character growth. I’ve read a few of this author’s books and enjoyed them very much. This author makes nice book covers this one just doesn’t work for me because of the model. Other than that, the cover style is cool. I prefer a headless torso if the cover model doesn’t look like any of the characters. Therefore, the model doesn’t look like any of the characters. I can’t remember what Marcus looks like, but I think he’s also much older than the model on the cover. But Luke is a blond, and doesn’t have a beard. Liam also has green eyes and this model has blue. It can’t be Liam, because he’s in his forties and the model on the cover is much younger. I’ve been trying to figure out who is on the cover. I’m a stickler on covers because for me, they are part of the story. The blurb gives an accurate background to what the story is about so I won’t rehash that.įirst, I’ll start with the cover. This story is told from all three characters’ pov. It includes Marcus, a choreographer, Luke a dancer, and Marcus’ partner, Liam. Third One is the third book in the ‘Those Other Books’ series.
